BreadButter is where creatives and freelancers show their work. Keep it professional, real and legal. These standards are part of our Terms of Service and apply to everything on the Service — profiles, usernames, uploads, imported and embedded content, links and offerings.
Never allowed
- Adult or NSFW content — none. No pornography, sexually explicit or sexualised content, or services of a sexual nature. This applies across the whole Service.
- Illegal activity or purposes — none. Nothing that is illegal under Indian law or the law that applies to you or your audience — including promoting drugs, weapons, counterfeits, hacking services, fraud or pyramid schemes, or using your page to facilitate any illegal purpose.
- Content prohibited under India’s IT Rules, 2021, including content that: belongs to another person without authorisation; is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic; is invasive of another’s privacy, including bodily privacy; is insulting or harassing on the basis of gender; is racially or ethnically objectionable; encourages money laundering or gambling; is harmful to children; infringes intellectual property; deceives or misleads about the origin of a message or knowingly spreads false information; impersonates another person; threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or incites an offence; or contains malware.
- Impersonation and misrepresentation — creating a page that passes you off as another person, including by using their photos, work or public information, or as a brand or as BreadButter itself; fake credentials; fabricated portfolios; passing off someone else’s work as your own; fake engagement. Impersonation reports are handled on a 24-hour fast track — see Grievance Redressal.
- Harassment, hate or threats against any person or group.
- Deceptive synthetic media — AI-generated content passed off as authentic, or synthetic depictions of real people without clear labelling and their consent.
- Spam and platform abuse — link farms, malware or phishing links, scraping other users’ data, circumventing plan limits or moderation.
- Abuse of the reporting system — knowingly filing false impersonation or infringement reports to get someone else’s page taken down.
- Child safety — zero tolerance. Content that sexualises or endangers minors is removed and reported to the authorities.
How we enforce
We run internal moderation, including manual review, alongside user reports. Depending on severity we may warn you, remove or unpublish content, restrict features, suspend or terminate your account, and — where the law requires — preserve and report material to the authorities. We act on complaints within the timelines set out in our Grievance Redressal Policy.
If we remove your content or restrict your account we will tell you why where the law allows, and you can appeal to the Grievance Officer.
Reporting
Report content or accounts to support@thebreadbutter.com or through our Grievance Redressal page. Impersonation and intimate-imagery reports go to the 24-hour fast track and can be made by anyone, with or without an account.
